A Series on 1 John

“A frightened world needs a fearless church.” – A. W. Tozer

Tozer could have easily been talking to the church in the world today. Amidst all the upheaval in 2020 and how it has continued into 2021, our faith in Jesus should stand out in bold courage to demonstrate the hope God has given us for this life and the life to come.

32 times, in it’s 5 chapters, 1 John uses the word “know” as it seeks to reassure us that we can live with confidence in our relationship with God and in how God is working for us, through us, and in the world, even when we may not see it clearly. It’s our hope that this series will give you the confidence to live a bold, audacious life of faith so that others may see God at work and be drawn to his love, life, and promises.

PAST SERIES - ASKING FOR A FRIEND

There are times when we may have questions but we feel uncomfortable asking them. In this sermon series, we will be looking at some of the questions that many people may have concerning our Christian faith. But the questions may make us a little nervous.

These are questions that people who aren’t believers may have and people who have faith may encounter in their own lives. As followers of Jesus, we need to be able to give the reasons for why we live with the hope we have (as 1 Peter tells us) but we also need to do that respectfully, kindly, and with a gentleness that will allow God’s truth to be heard.

It's our prayers that whether you are a person of faith or one who may be exploring some of these questions, that the answers that we share will be an encouragement to you and strengthen your understanding of God and how He has and is working in the world.

BREATHING HOPE

In a day and age when the future seems to change every day, societal, political, and health upheavals come daily, yet Christians hold to a hope that is more than an aspiration or desire for goodness. It is a Living, Breathing Hope based upon the promises of God. “Breathing Hope” our current sermon series, focuses upon the writings in 1 Peter and the assurances of God’s care, provision, deliverance and protection. We can breath in the life giving hope God offers and exhale that same hope to those who face the anxiety of uncertainty in our world today.

PAST SERIES - A NEW START

And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” – Revelation 21:5

Faith in Jesus is focused on the ability of God to transform us into who has created us to be. It may be a struggle, but all growth demands a willingness to move into new areas that will stretch us. Throughout this series, we will be focusing on how to embrace the new things God has provided to us as we live in faith in Him.
